Artisanal Rug
Repair & Restoration
We can repair and restore silk and wool rugs of all materials, including fine handwoven rugs from around the world. We specialize in antique rugs and use matching antique materials for restoration. This includes kilims, Turkish-woven, and Persian-woven carpets. For any restoration, we ensure that each rug is repaired with materials identical in type and color to its original. An old or antique rug must be restored using aged and appropriate materials.
Flat-Weave Kilim Hole Repair
This fine antique flat-weave Kilim suffered a severe torn hole. Our master weavers re-anchored the damaged structural warps, rewove the complex geometric design, and stretched the rug on a leather tension frame to achieve absolute structural integrity.
Fringe & Side-Edge Binding
A red floral rug with a completely unraveled, worn-down fringe edge. We anchored new, strong white structural warp threads deep into the rug's foundation, rebuilt the fringe, and beautifully overcast the side edges to lock the foundation.
Hand-Overcasting (Edge Binding)
Using thick red wool yarn and a specialized curved needle to bind and protect the side cord of a geometric carpet, securing the warp and weft boundaries.
Structural Warp Anchoring
A detailed look at an active restoration progress (75% completed) where new white warp fringes are woven deep into a red rug's core grid to reconstruct unraveled ends.
Antique Color & Fiber Match
Carefully securing the side edge of a light-blue floral rug. We use aged antique materials identical in fiber type and dye tint to match the rug's exact origin.
Fringe Restoration
& Loom Re-Weaving
Sourcing regional yarns and brewing custom vegetable dyes, our master weavers execute micro-knot structural re-weaving and border overcast whipping to permanently safeguard and visually harmonize your antique oriental carpets.
Dual Split Recreation
Conjoined grey-silk floral rugs are mounted on the workbench under tension. Active warp threads are carefully inspected, straightened, and cleared of debris. Using specialized steel shears, the conjoined weaves are cleanly split. Pile borders are immediately bound with overcasting whip stitches to prevent fraying.
Cylinder Loom Reweaving
We mount damaged red floral rugs on a heavy cylinder loom, reconstructing vertical cotton warps under perfect uniform tension. Splicing deep into the existing pile knots, our master weavers secure structural integrity, stabilize the foundation, and prevent any border buckling.
Damaged Fringe
Custom Golden Antique Match
A detailed close-up of custom-dyed wool tassels stitched and whipped by hand to perfectly match the antique character, golden tones, and fiber density of the rug's border. Sourced with organic pomegranate skins and walnut husks, achieving a seamless botanical patina.
Precision Shearing
& Detail Leveling
Crescent Knife Leveling
Over years, wool fibers spread and fluff up, blurring historic patterns. Additionally, newly rewoven knots stand taller than the surrounding antique pile. Our master shearers manually glide curved steel crescent blades flat across the surface, trimming micro-fractions of fibers. This meticulously levels the pile to a uniform height, blending restorations seamlessly and restoring crisp design clarity.
High-Definition Portrait Shearing
Pictorial carpets and hand-knotted wall tapestries rely on extreme color precision to convey realistic features. As fibers fray, they create a soft 'halo' that obscuring key details. As showcased in our black-horse restoration, we comb, spray, and sculpt the pile line-by-line, restoring three-dimensional definition, rich shadow depth, and museum sharpness back to woven fine art.
Custom-Commissioned & Specialty Design
We have extensive experience in creating custom-commissioned rugs based on customer orders, whether it’s a portrait of a person, a vehicle, or even a beloved pet. We can craft personalized designs with great detail to meet each client’s unique vision.
With innovative ideas, we also work with unique block-printed fabrics (Ghalamkar) and create custom garment designs. We merge traditional weaving techniques with modern, wearable art and specialty home décor.

The Royal Persian Court Weaving Legacy
Our design and repair philosophy draws directly from the high-density knotting methods perfected in ancient Persian royal courts, where fine carpets were commissioned not merely as flooring, but as detailed tapestries recording dynastic history. Every reweaving project we undertake honors these original, hand-spun structural warp guidelines.
